My name is Alaa, with pronouns (She/Her/Hers). Founder of Buddies Space (a peer mentorship platform for medical trainees). I am an International physician from Egypt, where I had my first combined psychiatry-neurology training and earned my Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.
I graduated with my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine, currently working as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital, affiliated with Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, RI, USA.
I love academic psychiatry, being a teacher is part of who I am since high school. My interests evolved during training from Cross-Cultural Psychiatry and impact of immigration on children’s mental wellbeing and their children into using Digital Psychiatry to close the gap between the need for tele-psychiatry services in children and adolescents and the challenges to access technology among underrepresented populations.
